The Swedish-Icelandic soprano Elisabet Einarsdottir grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden. She studied classical singing at the Iceland University of the Arts in Reykjavik, later continuing her education at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan and the Malmö Opera Academy.

Elisabet graduated from the Verdi Conservatory with the highest possible distinction – 110/110 cum laude.


Her repertoire spans lyrical and dramatic coloratura roles from all eras, ranging from Handel and Mozart to Donizetti, Strauss and contemporary composers. Elisabet has been engaged many times at Malmö Opera, where she has performed roles such as Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte, Titania in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Aspasia in Mozart’s Mitridate, re di Ponto (– a production also staged at The Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen). She has furthermore appeared in numerous tours, gala concerts, sing-along events, and at the Malmö Festival with Malmö Opera.


Other notable roles include Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Despina in Così fan tutte, Norina in Don Pasquale, and Minette in Offenbach’s operetta La chatte métamorphosée en femme. She has performed these on stages such as Kurtheater Bad Ems (Germany), Teatro Titano (San Marino), Ekhofteater (Gotha, Germany) and at the Vadstena Academy (Sweden). She has also participated in several summer productions with Kammaropera Syd at Ystad Theatre.


As a concert soloist, Elisabet has performed works including Mozart’s Mass in C minor, Coronation Mass and Exsultate Jubilate, Haydn’s The Creation, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Handel’s Messiah, Larsson’s Förklädd Gud (A God Disguised), and Bach’s Magnificat, collaborating with ensembles such as the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, and the Malmö Opera Orchestra.

Elisabet also maintains a wide chamber music repertoire and regularly collaborates with pianists Albert Van Phamand Giuliano Guidone. Among other performances, she has sung Britten’s Les Illuminations with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.


A dedicated performer of contemporary and modern music, Elisabet has premiered numerous works by living composers. Recently she appeared in Bára Gísladóttir’s performance opera Cooler Stars Glow Red (Spor Festival 2025) and in Carl Unander-Scharin’s The Tale of the Great Computing Machine (Reaktorhallen, Stockholm 2022). She also maintains a long-term collaboration with composer Petter Ekman, performing short operas and song cycles at festivals and venues including  Dark Music Days (Reykjavik), Halland Opera Festival, Teater Undergrunden (Denmark), and Harpa Concert Hall (Iceland).


During her studies at Malmö Opera, she was awarded the Aurora Lillieros Scholarship and the Malmö Opera Friends Scholarship. After graduation, she has received several distinctions, including First Prize in the OVIS Voice Competition, Second Prize in the Hjördis Schymberg Award, and First Prize and the Audience Prize in the Coop Music Awards in Milan.
